What is King's Cup anyway?

Or also called Circle of Death.
In this blog you will find the fun rules of Kings Cup! Also called Circle of Death or Ring of Fire, Kings Cup is a very popular drinking game.

Kings Cup is a card drinking game in which an action must be taken depending on what card you draw. The goal of Kings Cup is quite simple: drink a lot!
In this blog you will find possible different actions for the cards. You can of course change the rules and actions as you wish.

You need this

  • a normal card set with 52 cards (a skat set with 32 cards also works)
  • a glass/ mug or a shot glass for the Kings Cup
  • Players (at least one, but here the more the better)
  • Alcohol

If you can't remember the actions, get mugs! In our game of cups, there are fun actions right on the card, so there is no need to explain and discuss rules at the beginning. 😉

Construction

Building Kings Cup is quick and easy. First, a glass/cup or shotgals are placed in the middle of the table. It depends on how you play here. The shot can be filled at the beginning or the glass is filled with different drinks through an action. Now the playing cards are placed face down around the cup. There should be no gaps between the cards. All players should be able to reach the cards easily and have their alcoholic drink at hand.

Regulate

Kings Cup is often played with different rules. Depending on the group, the rules and actions are different.

Usually the youngest, eldest, drunkest, sober,
prettiest or least attractive teammates. First he draws a card - then the action is carried out. The loser of an action must drink. After an action is performed, the card must be placed on the Kings Cup. The different promotions and exact rules can be found below.

Bonus: You also have to make sure that there are no gaps in the card ring. The player who makes a gap in the card ring loses and must drink the Kings Cup. This is also the case when the cards fall from the Kings Cup. The polluter has therefore also lost and must drink the Kings Cup.
