Never played beer pong before? Funny, but nothing to be ashamed of! We are happy to help you and prepare you for your first game. We offer you some helpful tips and tricks, as well as general information about Beer Pong. Read on, take mental notes and win over your opponents on the beer pong stage from the start. We won't distract you any further, but let's get started:

Beer Pong is a drinking game classic around the world. Everyone knows it, (almost) everyone loves it. Except, of course, for those who don't sink a single ball. This can be very frustrating for the team partner, but one should not forget: everyone started small.
Or do you think that Beer Pong Talent just fell out of the sky?
Absolutely not. Behind good beer pong skills is a lot of practice, a feeling for the ball and, of course, accuracy. But how do you convince even the greatest beer pong pro of your experience, even if it's a lie?

Don't panic, we're here to help and advise you. So, read the guide in peace and shine at the next beer pong game.

Don't get cocky

The worst thing you can do as a beginner in any discipline is overestimate yourself. Praising yourself too much before the game will only make the game more embarrassing. Because then everyone will realize that they were just empty words. So keep calm, try not to get too nervous and drink up some courage. Not too much of course, but enough that you can push your bad throws up to your level if need be.
And who knows, maybe it will be better than expected. But even if not. It will always be funnier!
If things go really wrong, you can also suggest another drinking game to distract you. How about a round mugs or a game Shot pong?

Are you still a bit confused about the rules?

No problem. The exact Beer Pong Rules is relatively easy to explain. We have a short version for you here.

Beer Pong Rules - Short version

The ultimate goal is to be the first to hit all 10 of the opposing team's cups with the ball. You can always throw twice. There are of course exceptions.

If your opponent sinks one of your mugs, the beer inside must be drunk.
That's about it, roughly speaking. But you learn the details in no time. As the saying goes - “learning by doing”.

What type of litter are you?

Let's get to the most important discipline in Beer Pong. The throwing. The more you play, the more it will crystallize how you throw. Do you tend to throw short balls or, when in doubt, do you tend to throw too far?
For each type of throw, there is a specific throwing technique that will make it easier for you to hit. So, reflect on your shots and figure out how you can give yourself an edge.

A little tip on the side: Many beer pong players find it helpful if they focus on a matching cup, for example in the middle, so that one cup is behind and one in front of it. In case of doubt, the probability that one of the 3 cups will be hit is greater.

watch and learn

No world champion has fallen from the sky yet. But you can definitely learn something from those who are already very good at it. Sit out the first few games and see how they position themselves, how they hold their arm and what tactics they use. Maybe you can then implement these in your first games as well. But even if it doesn't work, it's definitely not the end of the world. Beer Pong is still a game, it's supposed to be fun and create a good atmosphere. And at the latest when your team has lost the game, you are all tipsy from the beer. Then nobody cares anymore who wins and who loses.

Which beer is best?

As a complete beginner in beer pong, you will unfortunately have to accept one defeat after the other for the time being. So it's definitely helpful to play with beer that doesn't make your stomach incredibly heavy afterwards.
So are there any beers that are better suited to beer pong than others?
Actually, the answer here is “no” as everyone should decide according to their taste. However, pale, light beers are naturally less intense and easier to brew. Since the alcohol content is lower, you won't get drunk quite as quickly either. But if you're just chasing the goal, you should reach for stronger beers. Good examples of light beers are the Belgian classic "Leffe", the Dutch "Heineken" or the Rhineland "Früh Kölsch". Stronger beers, on the other hand, are, for example, the Belgian “Karmeliet Tripel” or the Paulaner “Salvator”. You have to be careful here, otherwise you'll be under the table very quickly!

So the motto is: Rather play several rounds with a light beer.

Don't forget the fun factor

The whole post is about how not to embarrass yourself in front of your friends as a beer pong beginner. However, in the end, the success is really secondary. The most important thing is that you have fun. And yes, we know that it sounds like a pep talk from your mother when you only got one participation certificate again at the Bundesjugendspiele. But it's true!
Beer Pong was invented by a bunch of drunk college students in the '60s. That should show you that you don't have to take yourself so seriously. There is always a bit of luck involved, because even the best tactics don't always work out.
Of course, the right thing will also help you Beer pong equipment in order to achieve better results. in the TT Beer Pong Test you will find a selection of Beer Pong tables. You'll look a lot more professional with it, we promise you that.
